Easter Saturday’s racing action at King’s Lynn’s Norfolk Arena saw Wisbech’s Kevin McClagish claim his first win in the 1300cc Stock Car category.

“I’m just trying to get used to front-wheel drive,” said the former Banger Racing driver, “but I’m getting there.”

The win lifts him to ninth in the points standings, while a consistent finishing record has left experienced racer John Moat in third.

Race meetings are coming thick and fast at the venue. After the Easter weekend’s double-header, racing returns for both days of this weekend too, starting on Saturday evening (April 26, 6pm) and continuing on Sunday afternoon (April 27, 1pm).

A pair of Wisbech-based drivers, Zac Key and Shaun Hill, will be in action in the Micro Bangers on Sunday afternoon. The surprisingly tough little cars will be contesting the second round of qualifying for their UK Championship which will be held at the track later in the season.

Neither raced in the first round last month, although Hill has since competed in the larger 1500cc category at the Saddlebow Road shaleway and will be hoping to put that experience to good effect.

Also in action on Sunday are a pair of formulas rarely seen at the venue, Modstox and Stoxkarts. Completing the bill are three junior formulas for under-16s – Ministox, Junior Banger and Junior Stoxkarts.

The Ministox will also have been in action the night before, when they are joined by the country’s two leading open-wheel stock car categories, BriSCA Formula Two and the mighty, V8-engined BrisSCA Formula One machines.
