The Wisbech and District South Road Pigeon Racing Club held their annual prize giving at the Beechwood House Function Rooms, Leverington.
Club secretary George Trundle welcomed all members and guests. Guests of honour were Mr and Mrs Paul McMillan who congratulated all members and asked them to toast Mr Stewart McCurry on being the first fancier in Wisbech to win a national event.
Prizes presented: Robbie Clark 6th Bovingdon, Jimmy Thompson 3rd Salisbury, Rick Cleverley 2nd Salisbury, Denis Taylor 3 diplomas, George Trundle 3 diplomas, Les Papp 1st Carantan (France) and 7 other diplomas, Terry Roughton 1st Salisbury & Cup also 4 other diplomas, Alan Maile 1st Bovingdon & Cup, 1st Salisbury & Cup and 11 other diplomas, Mick & Daley Godfrey 1st Carantan and 9 other diplomas, Willy and Cathy Beckett 1st Lyndhurst & Cup, 1st Newbury & Cup, 1st Poole & Cup also 17 other diplomas, Shaun & Lisa Bowles 7 first prize diplomas and 12 other diplomas. Top prize winner: Stewart McCurry of the Walsoken S & T McCurry racing lofts 11 first prizes, also 45 other diplomas. Bouquets were presented to Julie McMillan and Diane Clark.
