Wisbech Town Ladies 3,

St Ives 1

Wisbech started well getting an early goal set up nicely by Megan Fey for Nat Ward to coolly slot home.

St Ives levelled shortly after when they were awarded a penalty flick for a defender’s foot on the line.

Wisbech responded positively and replied via Leanne Williamson and Fey going into half-time.

The girls face a tough double header next weekend playing Cambs Uni away and Norwich City at home.

Bourne Deeping 1,

Wisbech Ladies II 2

Wisbech got their first win of the season.

Wisbech went a goal down but replied through a solo goal from debutant Harriet Bateman and Sue Robinson from a well-worked short corner. Well-deserved second team debuts for Georgia Bingham, Becky Coleman and Ros Pinker.

PoM was Daisy Woolmer, magnificent in midfield.

Wisbech are at home at 12.30pm next Saturday to St Neots I.

WTHC Ladies 3rd 2,

St Neots 3rd 1

In a close match, with St Neots only one place below Wisbech, goalkeeper Ruby Shepherd made a great stick save.

In the second half Rosie Stevenson evened the score. With time running out, Holly Stevenson scored the winner.

PoM: Shelley Coleman.

Wisbech 3rd 8,

St Neots 2nd 1

Wisbech played their best hockey so far in this 4NW league match.

Goals: Drew Harvey 2, Hugo Atkin 2; and after half-time Atkin 3, a brace from Tom Drew, and Harvey.

Next week sees the long trip to top side Horncastle.

Spalding 4th 3,

Wisbech 4th 0

Wisbech were too weak against a strong Spalding side, especially after going a man down partly due to frustration.

Next week v St Ives 4ths (h) 4pm.
