Speed skater Mike MacInerney swapped sports and moved to the top of the cycling leader board this week when conditions favoured tougher riders in the Tuesday Evening Wisbech Wheeler series.

Simon Ridgewell took second and Wayne Hall was third and the only other rider over the 25 mph average.

Andy Bean and junior, Tiago Fougo on road bikes were at a distinct disadvantage in the windy conditions but still put in strong rides against those racing on TT machines.

In the ladies section Lou Campion just managed to best Becky Hamilton once again with a four second margin and that battle is set to continue as the end of the series approaches.
