Mixed fare

WISBECH Badminton Club is now midway through the season and have enjoyed some mixed results.

They moved to the new sports hall at Thomas Clarkson School after Christmas where the playing facilities are excellent.

The club has entered one mixed and two men’s teams in the Ouse Valley League and members have enjoyed the competition to date and are looking forward to the rest of the season which runs up to April.

The mixed team pairs are Elaine Aldrich and Steve Ward, Sheila Hennessey and Paul Leet and Ruth Wisbey and Michael Hanson have played only one match against King’s Lynn which they lost 6-3.

The men’s A team featuring Paul Allen, Stephen Ward, Terry Roughton and Michael Hanson have played well in their five matches against strong competition winning three and drawing one.

The men’s B team consisting of regulars Darren Harvey, Shane Loates, Richard Walpole and Jeff Townsend have played six hard fought matches, but have managed only a draw against King’s Lynn C.

The club meets every Wednesday and a warm welcome will be extended to new players of all standards. Join in and enjoy reduced fees to the end of the season or pay by the night.
