JACKY Hearle and John Hines (St Lawrence Bowls Club), representing North Cambs at the EBF & EWBF National Indoor Finals at Newark, played brilliantly for three rounds to reach the final in the mixed pairs but came up against a very strong pair from North Essex.

Despite holding 2 and 3 shots on a number of occasions they lost.

North Cambs EBF President Paul Bennett commented: “It made my week watching Jacky and John play so well, they were a credit to the county.”

Mixed Pairs: 1st round J. Hearle, J. Hines v Cleveland won 22-17; 2nd round v Suffolk won 14-13 on an extra end. Semi-final v Notts won 20-15. Final v North Essex lost 15-17.
