Nine best Chatteris swim times by magnificent Megan

Chatteris Kingfishers SC managed 57 personal best times, four gold medals, six silver and seven bronze, as well as nine club records, in the Peterborough Winter Meet.

The gold medals were won by Open swimmer Mark Thompson in 400 IM (pb, club record), 400m front crawl (f/c) and 50m breaststroke (pb) and Chloe Cook (10), also in 400m I.M., beating the 11/U and 13/U club record.

Silver medals went to Thompson in 100 and 200m back, 100m fly and 50m f/c, Cook in 200m butterfly (pb), and Hallie White (11) also in 200m butterfly.

Bronze medals: Erika Denman (15) in 100m backstroke, White in 50 and 100m butterfly (pb, club record in 100m), Thompson in 50m breaststroke final and 50m f/c final and Freddie Allen (10) in 50m breaststroke (pb) and 50m f/c.

Further club records were achieved by: Megan Dawson in 13/U 400m f/c (pb), Hallie White in 11/U 100m and 200m f/c and 200m backstroke (all pb) and Ben Noble (9) in 9/U 50m f/c (pb).

Connie Denman (14) swam pb times in 50, 100 and 200m f/c, 50, 100 and 200m breaststroke as well as 200m I.M., gaining creditable sixth places in all three breaststroke races. Harry Rayner (10) swam pb’s in 50 and 100m f/c, as well as 50m breaststroke, also earning a creditable 6th place in 100m f/c.

Kiara Kovacs (11) swam five of her seven races in pb times (50, 100m breaststroke, 100, 200m frontcrawl and 200m I.M.). Megan Dawson beat them all by swimming 13 races, nine of which were in pb times (100, 200 and 400m f/c, 100, 200m backstroke and breaststroke, 100m butterfly and 200m I.M)., with a very creditable 6th in 50m f/c.

Further pb times by: Maisie (11) and Finley Harper (13, 4th in 200m breaststroke), Riley Astley (11), Jake Hoy (14), who got in the 50m breaststroke final where he finished fifth, also 5th in 100m breaststroke, Thomas Hanley (11), Kiera Simpson (11), Megan Denman (10), Liam Hill (13), Molly Noble (11) and Melissa Ablett (10). Also swimming: Thea Hanley.

This coming weekend 20 younger swimmers will contest the second round of the Peterborough mini-meet.
