North Cambs brought home the silverware at the National EBF and EWBF Outdoor Finals at Skegness with two national titles and two losing finalists.

This is a significant achievement for the bowlers involved to have reached four finals and have two winners for North Cambs in a national bowls competition.

The two winners were Jackie Hearle, Lynne Quibell and Christine Wadlow (Ladies two bowl rinks) and Christine Wadlow (Ladies 2 bowl singles). Losing finalists were Margaret Hunt (Ladies senior 2 bowl singles) and Janet Savage and Christine Jackson (Ladies senior pairs).

Men’s president Chris Wright commented that he was so pleased with the ladies performance and that the men must try harder and need to step up their game next year!

It’s not since 1996 with Alan and Ash Nelson that they have had two winners in the same year.

Wadlow had to play in rain and wind on the Saturday morning for her second Championship win supported by a hardcore of supporters who were present all week.
