Chatteris potter Joe Perry made a late comeback before exiting the first round of the 2014 Masters on Monday.

He went out to Scotland’s Stephen Maguire 6-4 after being 5-1 down. Perry reeled off three frames in a row including a break of 106 to move him within one of the two-time semi-finalist.

Maguire prevailed to set up an appearance on Friday in the quarter-finals against Perry’s practice partner Neil Robertson.

Result (best of 11 frames): 112-4 (112), 80-9 (80), 12-78 (78), 85-42 (56), 70-20, 72-0, 3-84, 44-74, 0-127 (106), 80-21.
