CHATTERIS cueman Joe Perry lost out in the second round of the German Masters to former world champion Rocket Ronnie O’Sullivan 5-1 last Friday.
O’Sullivan dominated Perry with a barrage of big breaks. It was unfortunate for Perry to find O’Sullivan in such form as he fired in runs of 110, 74, 69, 123 and 57 to win in just 64 minutes.
“Joe is a tough opponent and didn’t make it easy for me,” said O’Sullivan. “I needed to score well.”
Perry had won 5-4 in a high standard match against Ali Carter in the first round
He made breaks of 94, 71 and 102 to lead 3-1, then Carter went 4-3 up with 89, 129 and 86. Perry nicked a scrappy eighth frame on the pink and added the decider 54-24 to earn his meeting with the Rocket.
