FORMER Wisbech Grammar School pupil Alistair Price played a pivotal role in Saracens’ victory against Jed-Forest in the final of the Melrose Sevens tournament.

The 18-year-old Bedford University student, who plays for Bedford Blues, a team which is affiliated to Saracens, scored twice in the final and he also made a prominent contribution in the quarter and semi-final rounds.

In a post-match review at the end of the tournament final Scotland legend Scott Hastings singled out Price as his man of the match.

He has also signed a contract to play first team championship rugby next season for Bedford Blues and he will also train pre-season with Saracens.
