Pyatt on the road to title

On Sunday Walpole St Andrew Runner Matt Pyatt travelled to East Dereham to take part in the annual Norfolk County 10 Mile road championships. Matt 37, managed to finish first ahead of the 279 finishers and 16 seconds ahead of his nearest rival from Coltishall Jaguars in a pb time of 57 minutes and 1 second. On Sunday Walpole St Andrew’s Matt Pyatt travelled to East Dereham to take part in the annual Norfolk 10-mile road championships.

Pyatt (37) finished first out of 279, 16 seconds ahead of his nearest rival from Coltishall Jaguars in a personal best time of 57 minutes and 1 second. This is 53 seconds faster than his previous best.e

He said this was his finest road victory to date and was delighted to win in front of most of his family.

l Becky Cousins, competing for West Norfolk, performed well at the second Southern Athletic League held at King’s Lynn.

Conditions were tougher due to very strong winds and storms. Her first event was the 3000m, where she finished second. She then gave another attempt at the steeplechase. She won this new event and gained another placing in the UK rankings. Shortly after, she ran strongly for the 400m relay where the team finished a superb second.
