Manea man Nick King (61), who plays for March Town and as a guest player for Suffolk, played hockey for the East of England for the sixth year running in the National Tournament in Cannock - this year playing as a Grand Master.

The team, which is selected from all clubs based in the East of England, played four matches against North, South, West and Midlands. They won two and drew two, King scoring the winning goal during the second match. He also assisted with other goals.

He was particularly mentioned, by the opposition and colleagues, about his speed at this standard and age group. Despite not losing a match the East were runners-up again for the second year running to a single goal difference on count-back.

He was invited to the All England trials for the World Championships being held in The Hague, but unfortunately narrowly missed the 16 squad from 22.
