The Cambridgeshire county championships were held at Manea British Legion Hall on consecutive Sundays.

The winners of the fours were Janet and Gerry Russell with Dawn and Roly Fincham with a score of 5 points plus 3 shots with Sheila and John Page with Margaret and Barry Newton the runners-up.

The singles were played in a “round robin” format. Joanne Clements beat Gerry Russell in the first semi final and Barry Bell overcame Tony Hart in the other. The final went down to the final end in which Barry won 7-5.

The following Sunday as there were only six triple teams entered, each team had to play all the other teams in turn. The winners were Gill Kent, Dawn and Roly Fincham only losing one game with a score of 8 points plus 12 shots. Edna Hunter, Gwen and Jim Siggee were the runners up with 6 points plus 15 shots.

In the pairs Suzanne Beeken and Joanne Clements beat Charlie White and Tony Hart 9-4 in the first semi and Craig and Colin Buck beat Maureen and Barry Bell 9-4 in the other. Craig and Colin then had a convincing win 8-4 over Suzanne and Joanne in the final.
