CHATTERIS boxing fans will have the chance to see a most promising youngster Ryan Williams have his first bout at a dinner show at the Cromwell College on Saturday night.

The 10-year-old, who comes from Wisbech but is a member of the Chatteris Boxing Club, has really impressed coach Paul Gill in the gym over the last two years.

Gill said: “Without doubt he is the best young prospect I have seen at this age. He is even better than my son Jordan at 10.”

Williams will be making his debut in a style bout which will be part of a 15-bout card.

Chatteris will have five boxers in action and March’s Ben Cuthbert, who was named boxer of the night after his first bout at the March show last month, is also on the bill.

Jordan Gill was expected to fight, but he now has an ABA semi-final on the Sunday.

His father said: “It is a pity Jordan cannot box on what would have been his last Chatteris show as an amateur, but he will still be there on the night to support the other boxers.”

Tickets for the dinner show at a cost of £30 are still available from Matty Payne on 01354 693630 or you can pay at the door for the boxing only at £10. The boxing starts at 7.30pm.
