Samurai club members are making the grade

SAMURAI'Details regarding a school kyu grading held at the Hudson lc for students 7th kyu and above.'18 Students achieved new grades from 6th kyu to 1st kyu in a 3 hour session covering various elements. 'Gary Banks 2nd Kyu, and William Wingfield 3rd Kyu put in excellent performances to achieve their new grades, William had opted to wait a extra 6 months before taking this grading and the extra training time made a huge difference. Also the influence of our Senior Sensei is now coming through in our kyu grades.'' ''Kieran Quinn achieved his junior 1st Kyu having last graded 2 � years ago. Kieran has worked hard to get himself to this level, never given up or complained. He has turned for training every week and shown great dedication to get to the mark. The Samurai Karate Club held a kyu grading at the Wisbech Hudson LC and 18 students achieved new grades from 6th kyu to 1st kyu in a three-hour session covering various elements.

Gary Banks 2nd kyu, and William Wingfield 3rd kyu put in excellent performances to achieve their new grades, Wingfield had opted to wait an extra six months before taking this grading and the extra training time made a huge difference.

Kieran Quinn achieved his junior 1st Kyu having last graded two and a half years ago. He has worked hard to get himself to this level, never given up or complained. He has turned for training every week and shown great dedication to get to the mark.

Sensei Steve King said: “It’s not how quick we get there it’s how well do it and that we never give up. This is true Shotokan spirit.”
