CHATTERIS boxer Jordan Gill will have his second professional bout at the Peterborough Showground on September 29.
Gill was an impressive points winner in his first pro bout in Sheffield in July against Kristian Laight.
His manager Dominic Ingle is awaiting confirmation of Gill’s opponent next month.
Gill said: “I have been training really hard and pushing myself for this next fight. I have been starting at 6.30 in the morning and then back in the gym again in the afternoon.
“I think you will see the difference when I get in the ring at Peterborough as the muscles have developed more and I am broader plus the skills have got better too. It has been almost 24/7 as the rest is just as important, but I have really enjoyed it as everyone in the gym spurs each other on.”
The 18-year-old Gill, who received a B in Government Politics in his A levels plus two other passes last week, is off to Fuerteventura next week for two weeks high altitude training with the rest of the Brendan Ingle camp which includes top fighters Kid Galahad and Kell Brook.
Gill had over 100 fans ringside in Sheffield and is expecting an even bigger following at Peterborough. He was out selling tickets in his home town at the weekend and said: “I sold £810 worth of tickets in 20 minutes and I think we’ll have over 200 there.”
Tickets for the boxing only are available at £30 by contacting Amy Gill on 01354 695211.
