Old Cooperians 30pts,

Wisbech 13pts

Wisbech began confidently but frustration and poor
discipline saw two players sin binned as the hosts rattled in 22 unanswered second-half points.

Wisbech looked to run the ball early on and gained the lead on 15 minutes when inside centre Jon Turner powered his way over the home full back to score.

The home team rallied and scored a try.

Sam Anderson kicked a penalty but on half-time Old Cooperians levelled with a penalty.

The home backs started the second half confident that they had the edge over Wisbech and looked to run the ball on every occasion.

However a dropped ball by their centre saw Turner pick up the ball to score his and Wisbech’s second try before the sin bins.

A very distraught coach Leonard Venendaal felt that the team were out-gunned in most departments of the game and has once again has asked his players to increase their commitment to the club.

Wisbech entertain Datchworth on Saturday in the first round of the Senior Vase.

Kick off for the match is 2.30pm.
