Sutton took three vital points on Saturday in this East Men’s League Prem B fixture.

Sisson pounced and intercepted the ball superbly, drew the keeper and then turned on a sixpence and beautifully slotted home the opening goal.

Norwich equalised and took the lead. Just before half-time Sisson produced another lovely finish to level things up.

Sutton came alive in the second half.

Fyson’s drag flick was stopped on the line by a foot and he sublimely slotted home the resulting penalty flick.

Cook was rewarded for his efforts with a goal.

Cambridge South 3,

LSHC Men’s 2nd 4

Sutton beat a team that hasn’t lost a home game all season despite going behind three times.

Scorers: Captain and man of the match Stef Fox, Ben Shore (2) and a penalty flick by Alex Canham.

Alford & District 2nds 0, LSHC Men’s 3rd 8

For once Sutton travelled to this crucial away game with a settled side.

Scorers: Harry Thorpe, Calvin Bishop, and Jack Smith’s (6), the result of his team-mates’ hard work.

LSHC Men’s 4th 4,

Spalding 5ths 4

Spalding never trailed in the match, but every time they got their noses in front they were dragged back.

Scorers: John Sullivan, Ian White and Gary Hales (2).

Sutton Ladies 1sts came out on top of their local rivals, who had won 17 league outings consecutively.

Sutton deserved their victory through two decisive periods.

Midway through the first half Emma Howell reacted sharply to fire the ball into the Spalding net.

Some 12 minutes into the second period from a short corner Leanne Woodhead cracked in a shot for a 2-0 lead.

Sutton remain on track for third place which would be an improvement on fourth last season.

They would make sure of this with a win against City of Peterborough 2nds at home on Saturday.

Long Sutton returned to winning ways in a close contest.
