March took control early of their first Div 3NW game of the season, keeping possession for long stages of the first half and managed to convert four chances via David Hazlegrave, Matt Wallis 2 and Adam Graham.

St Ives capitalised on two mistakes in the second half. March continued to push forward and showed good fitness towards the end of the game creating two further goals from different sources including Andy Wright and Dan Shirley.

March skipper Matthew Bamford was pleased to place a victory under the belt but was already looking to next weekend’s Cambridge South away game.

St Ives looked the stronger side for the first ten minutes and converted a chance to take an early lead.

The home side managed to turn things around in the first half by catching two breakaway goals through James Fountain and Charlie Boughton. In the second half Boughton completed a hat-trick and Jody Betts slotted in neatly from a short corner.
