Stephen Skeeles has joined the long list of champions produced out of the Chatteris Amateur Boxing Club after his win on Friday in Norwich.

He is now crowned the Senior ABA Eastern Counties Champion, under 10 bout novices.

Stephen, who entered the contest with three fights, two wins and one loss, faced Rob Elden, of Hurstlea ABC a more experienced boxer with a record of ten fights six wins, four losses.

Skeeles dominated the first two rounds with his long jab and right hand,

Elden knew he was behind so put in extra effort in the third, but Skeeles out manoeuvred him, to win a unanimous decision.

Coach Paul Gill puts the championship success down to hard work, dedication, of both boxers and coaches, excellent matchmaking by Matty Payne at the club, and partnership work with the Ingle Gym, Sheffield.
