Sutton opened their league account on Saturday with a hard earned point after Waltham deservedly took the lead and the first half ended 1-0.

Tom Baguley was sent to the sin bin but in the dying minutes league debutant Adam Wiles glided into the D and captain Harrison slotted home the loose ball.

Sutton were overrun at times, Jackson having a goal disallowed.

Sutton took 20 minutes to organise but Wisbech had scored three goals by then.

Deeping’s developmental side found a home forward line in devastating form.

Matt Portass supplied an endless stream of crosses from the right, leading to hat-tricks for experienced striker James Baker and unheralded MoM newcomer Luke Proctor. Gary Hales added the seventh goal.

Five great goals from four different scorers gave Long Sutton Ladies 1sts a 5-0 lead.

Amber Jones after rushing to the match from her school fixture gave a creditable performance.
