Spartans closed the gap to three points on March and District Neale-Wade Table Tennis League leaders Spinners with a 6-3 win against them.

Matches were close in most games, but Spartans just held on to the win.

Spinners 3 (Richard Ablitt, Nick Willy, Harry Palmer), Spartans 6 (Mike Bentley, Phil Lock, James Kelly).

Amigoes won the last two games to beat Lightning 5-4 in a very tight match.

Lightning lost two games in the fifth end, Jordan Mason beating Dean Lenton 12-10, 4-11, 11-7, 2-11, 11-5 and Sue Pitcher beating Steve Buttriss 3-11, 11-13, 11-8, 11-5, 11-7.

Amigoes 5 (Tim Holloway, Dave Pitcher and Jordan Mason), Lightning 4 (Terry Rudd, Dean Lenton, Steve Buttriss).

Odds On won their second match of the season with a 5-4 win against Smashers.

Archie Palmer’s win over Sue Pitcher was the closest of the night with Palmer triumphing 4-11, 9-11, 11-7, 11-9, 11-8.
