Keen Wisbech Rugby Club have already begun pre-season training on Tuesday and Thursday nights, 7pm sharp at Chapel Road.

Club stalwart Mark Laws has agreed to take on the role of pre-season coaching. The ex-Wisbech Grammar School pupil joined Wisbech as a mini and has played at all levels at the club. He is a qualified fitness coach.

David Wadsley has continued as club captain for this season and Oliver Mackett is second team captain.

Wisbech remain ambitious and the form shown at the beginning and end of last season has given confidence that, with commitment from all club players, this could be a season to remember.

In the last game of last season Wisbech were in the lead against Cambridge Development Squad in the final of the Cambridgeshire County Cup with 20 minutes to go. Cambridge Rugby Club play in the national leagues and many of the development squad players had national league experience.

The only difference between the two teams in the final quarter was fitness as Cambridge won the game.

Wisbech are always on the look out for players, both experienced and new, so pop down on training nights.
