Wisbech Ladies 3rds 4 Spilsby Ladies 1

Wisbech began strongly with lots of passing down the pitch.

A short corner was won and great positioning on the post led Emma Boler to slip the ball into the goal.

Wisbech carried on working together up the wings which led to Holly Stevenson sweeping the ball into the net with the help of Shelley Coleman.

At the start of the second half Wisbech were all tiring but managed to keep the good skills shown throughout the team and the third goal came from Kate Stevenson, again assisted by Coleman. A very well-planned short corner finished in a goal scored by Boler.

The team became tired and lost concentration, leading to Spilsby scoring in the last few minutes, but excellent defending from Esme Atkin and goalkeeper Ruby Shepherd meant this was their only goal of the match. This was an extremely well-played game from both teams.

Well-deserved PoM went to Boler for her two great goals.

Next weekend all Wisbech teams are back in action.

The home games start from 12:30pm with the Ladies 2nds, followed by Men’s 1sts at 2:30pm and Men’s 3rds at 4pm.

Away games are Men’s 2nds and Men’s 4ths, both playing St Ives at 12:30pm and 3:30pm.

The Ladies 1sts are away to local rivals Spalding at 12:30pm, while the Ladies 3rds will be away to City of Peterborough at 11:30am.
