City of Peterborough 2, LSHC Ladies 1

Captain Charlee Leuty’s changed Sutton team, including debutant Katie Bedford, produced another good performance but just came up short which leaves Peterborough top and level on points with Pelicans.

Sutton on nine points sit just behind the early leaders and host Pelicans on Saturday.

A short corner was injected by Robyn Gribble to Leanne Woodhead who fed Gribble to fire home to draw level after 18 minutes.

PoM: keeper Lorraine Wallis.

LSHC Men 1, Letchworth 2

The game was fairly balanced until Tom Baguley was sent to the sin bin and Letchworth bagged the first goal.

Sutton were unlucky to go two down as the umpire judged the ball to have crossed the line despite Taylor’s heroic efforts.

Fyson sent the ball of the game over the top to which Ben Shore added the touch of the game to round the keeper and slot home. Sutton were then denied by the opposition keeper.

Bourne Deeping 2nds 6, LSHC Mens’ 2nd 1

Sutton, who travelled with a very young squad, had made it 1-1 when Ed White and Alex Canham found Michael Donaghy to score with a delightful reverse stick finish.

LSHC Mens’ 3rd 1, Cambridge South 3rds 3

Sutton started well against a 10-man City, with a well struck goal at a short corner from John Sullivan but to their cost failed to take further advantage.
