Wisbech Swimming Club continued its winning streak with a decisive victory in round one of the Senior Fenland League, held at Newmarket.

The senior team – aged nine to 40 – swam 47 events, taking 20 first places and creating seven new personal best times.

Two of the PBs went to Alice Dennis, for the 14 & under 100m backstroke and breaststroke.

Meanwhile, Ollie Newton set new club records as he won the open male 100m butterfly and took second in the 100m freestyle.

The team also won six out of nine relay events, including the tough 8×25m freestyle squadron. Wisbech finished on 180 points, beating Mildenhall into second place on 138.

This emphatic victory qualifies the team for the Senior Fenland League final, which is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, at the Hudson Sports Centre in Wisbech.
