Prior to North Cambs EBF playing their first home bowls county game of the season against North Essex, a minute’s silence was held in respect of Christine Jackson, Daphne Houghton and Malcolm Brooks who passed away recently.

North Cambs managed a double win of both the Adams and Newton teams.

Adams at Downham Market Ex. Services BC won 174-155, 18 points to 4: D Stanton, T Tomizzi, I Lawson v M Grimwood 31-26; R Croxford, D Saunders, R Jackson v M Harvey 33-16 (spoons). President pulled rank; P Bennett, M Fox, J Fox v K Moore 33-16 drew for spoons; C Wight, F Howard, A Klien v S Botton 25-33; J Ivatt, A Other, R Allen v A Barnes 22-36; S Engledow, S Peach, A Hailes v M Page 30-29.

Newton at St Lawrence BC won 165-150, 16 points to 6: Ja Gowler, C Waling, D Thorpe v B Moore 26-30; B Plater, H Read, M Oliver v K Nickols 34-23 (spoons); C Newby, R H.Himes, A Wright v J Semor 21-2; J Allenson, Jo Gowler, K Cole v E Kiddle 28-23; B King, A Oliver, D Turner v P Longstaff 33; L Smith, M Gollands, D Mann v T Willamott 23-24.
