Eight Chatteris Kingfishers were in action on Sunday at the Biggleswade Open Meet where they performed extremely well, amassing six golds, three silver, four bronze, 18 personal bests from 30 races.

This was despite some having PB’d in the same races in the Mendis trophy in Wisbech, three regional times and five club records between them.

Golds: six for Tyler Thomas (12) in 100m breaststroke, 200m front crawl, 200m I.M., 50m backstroke (all PB’s), 50m and 100m butterfly.

Silver: Tyler Thomas in 400m front crawl (PB) and Maisie Harper (10) in 100m front crawl and 100m backstroke (both PB).

Bronze: Liam Oliver (16) in 50m butterfly (PB), Finley Harper (13) in 200m I.M. and 400m front crawl (PB) and Maisie Harper in 50m front crawl.

Thomas achieved three regional times and four club records and Oliver achieved one club record.

Further PB times were achieved by: Liam Oliver in 200m I.M. (5th) and 200m front crawl (10th), Megan Dawson (12) in 50m breaststroke (8th), 100m backstroke and 100m front crawl (both 12th), Riley Astley (10) in 200m front crawl (4th), Thomas Hanley (10) in 100m breaststroke (7th) and 400m front crawl (6th) and finally master swimmer Kathleen Loveridge in 100m front crawl (15th).
