Wisbech Rugby Club youth teams travelled to Fakenham Rugby Club on Sunday and put in some excellent performances.

Wisbech U11s kept up their winning streak and came away with a hat-trick of wins.

Wisbech were put under pressure by a much improved Fakenham side. Only a surging run for the try line by lock Cameron Finlay earned a 5-0 win.

In the second game full back Finlay Wilcox cut some excellent lines to score a superb try in the corner.

Lock Finlay ran in his second try of the day, followed by a cleverly worked try by centre Archie Lyall. Final score: Wisbech 15 Fakenham 5.

The final game saw the forwards again dominating the set pieces. A well worked move by the locks saw Luke Green bag a hard fought try. Fakenham drew level, before Oliver Simpson gave Wisbech a well-earned 10–5 win.

Player of the week was Luke Green whose performance at second row was outstanding.

Wisbech Under 8s team played brilliantly and won 9-2 and 9-3 respectively.

Tries: Oliver Murdoch (7), Freddie Riddington, William Paul (5), Joshua Bell (2), Jenson Burrows (2) and Billy Nurse.

Wisbech 7s played a great game against their elder rivals, Fakenham mixed 7s and 8s. Four tries for Wisbech which were scored by Ashton Webb (2), Charley Kirby & Connor Loughlin.

Both teams are playing hosts to Ely next Sunday.
