Wisbech Ladies 2,

Pelicans 2

WISBECH still remain unbeaten in the league and have three games left to clinch the Division One North title after this draw.

This local derby was always going to be an exciting fixture. Wisbech went 1-0 down halfway through the first half.

They were chasing the equaliser but some solid defending and spritely attacks showed that a goal was imminent for the hosts.

Wisbech’s first break came from a penalty corner when Jodi Peggs struck home the goal that levelled play.

Pelicans came back with attacks that built through midfield and strikes that challenged Wisbech keeper Alysha Moat, but these were confidently kept at bay.

The second half was equally as exciting when a penalty corner awarded to the away side resulted in a flick which gave Pelicans the lead.

At times the home team were looking as if this may be their first defeat but steely determination was rewarded when Joey Gomm scored the equaliser.

On Saturday Wisbech are away to St Ives.
