Undefeated Chatteris pro boxer Jordan ‘The Thrill’ Gill on Saturday looks to make it a 15th straight win in front of the television cameras in Carshalton.
The 21-year-old said of the clash in the London suburbs: “I’m not sure who I’ll be fighting yet. I’m leaving it up to the management. I just say yes to everybody!”
He says it makes no difference not knowing who his opponent is: “The opponents are irrelevant to me. I train to my best ability.
“When you’re in that frame of mind no-one can step into the ring and compete with you, let alone beat you.”
Gill, from the famous Ingle Gym stable, hopes to challenge for the English title next year. He was hoping at the weekend to box for the vacant Southern Area featherweight championship on the show.
The fight was offered to Ian Bailey, but the Slough veteran turned it down and with no one else available, Gill will instead box over six rounds.
“We’ve had a few problems this year with fights being called off but we’ll push for titles next year, which I’m looking forward to.”
Gill’s previous fight was in July when he secured a points victory over tough Georgian George Gachechiladze at the Derby Arena,
During the last month, he’s been in Ricky Hatton’s gym in Greater Manchester sparring WBA bantamweight champion Zhanat Zhakoyanov.
The show in Carshalton will be televised by Channel Five. Gill’s bout will be live from 8pm and it is available on Sky channel 160 or Freeview channel 31.
