A new course was used for the Annual Thorney 10k for this year, making it an all road race instead of a multi-terrain one.

On a wet and windy Sunday Walpole St Andrew runner Matt Pyatt led from the start of the race until the finish.

The section between 2.5k to 5k was particularly testing with the wind but on the turn back towards the finish Pyatt pushed on to run away from his nearest rival in the race to record a negative split (a faster second half of the race than the first) and win in a time of 33-56, a good 36 seconds ahead of second place.
