Wisbech dominated possession and moments after coming onto the pitch, Hannah Strickle shot home from a tight angle.

After half time a short corner routine was precisely deflected home by Lisa Williamson, Strickle struck after captain Verity Allen fired the ball into the D and Katie Rodger converted a short corner.

Player of the match: Katie Dunn. Wisbech travel to league leaders Saffron Walden on Saturday.

Wisbech for the third week running can blame a costly five to 10 minute spell that took the game away from them to trail 4-1 at the break, Sam Markillie scoring.

The half-time chat from skipper Jonathan Shippey worked when Joe Melton roofed one of his signature penalty strokes, but the visitors increased their lead to 5-2. The teams traded goals, James Mansfield and Daniel Martell scoring.

Next weekend Wisbech travel to Cambridge University for another crucial pre-Christmas game.

Wisbech notched up their first win of the season.

Edward Atkins (2), Hugo Atkins and Richard Claxton made it 4–1 at the break. Wisbech added a short corner strike from Howard Atkins and a third from Edward Atkins. Simon Freear was outstanding in goal.
