A great team effort from Wisbech Swimming Club in the Mendis Trophy Gala at the Hudson Leisure Centre, Wisbech, missing out on second place by just one point.

Dereham Otters won the gala with 185 points.

Results, 21 personal best times (including four relay first legs) achieved by: Ollie Newton (2) Bryony Pack (2) Jack Lane (2) Megan Kierman (2) Paul Defty (2) Rio Howlett, Jacob Rhodes, Lorimer Thomas, Elouise Youngs, Ollie Harris, Hannah Brown, Charlie Bourne, Robson Pack, Caitlin Sinnott, Tom Hewitt, Tom Barlow.

Club records: Ollie Newton (boys 100m open fly and boys 15 & under 100m freestyle), Hannah Brown (girls 100m open backstroke), Jack Lane (11) in his last race for the club in boys 13 & u 100m fly. Also 1st in boys 13 & u 100m individual medley.

* March Marlins competed in the Wisbech Mendis Gala, competing against teams from Wisbech, Dereham, Norwich and St Neots.

Marlins achieved a fourth place with 50 per cent of swims achieving PBs, in up to 6 seconds in some races. Congratulations to all those swimmers who took part.
