Wisbech Swimming Club delivered a great performance in the Division 2 Final of the National Arena Swimming League held in Peterborough.
The small team finished fourth in the final and their final league position was a very respectable fourth out of 18 teams - a place higher than last year.
Nine personal best times were achieved from 34 races by Ollie Harris (2), Megan Kierman (2), Tom Hewitt, Jack Lane, Lorimer Thomas, Robson Pack and Ollie Newton. Four PB times in relay 1st legs by Ollie Harris (2), Robson Pack and Megan Kierman.
New club records: Jack Lane (boys 50m 10-11 Freestyle), Ollie Newton (boys 13 & under 100m Freestyle) and Ben Marsters (400m Open Individual Medley).
Coach Greg Marsters said: “This is a quality result and when you consider we finished behind Northampton, Chesterfield and Peterborough, which are very large clubs, it is a massive credit to all our swimmers and everyone involved.
“It is a great shame that we cannot obtain more training time and funding to progress our squad even further.”
l Wisbech SC sent four selected swimmers, who all performed superbly, to represent Cambridgeshire in the 3 Counties Gala held at Dereham.
Cambridgeshire won 11 events and finished second to a very strong Suffolk team, with Norfolk third. Oliver Newton was presented with his County Colours for being selected to swim for the County three times.
Results: Jack Lane 1st 50m butterfly, breaststroke, medley relay; 2nd freestyle relay. Grace Cherry 1st medley relay; 2nd freestyle relay; 4th 100m freestyle. Hannah Brown 4th 100m backstroke, freestyle relay; 5th medley relay. Oliver Newton 4th freestyle relay.

Mollie, also a member at Peterborough, will be representing COPS in the Arena League Grand Final in Cardiff next year.
