Wisbech 97pts,

East London 0pts

Wisbech notched up 15 tries in their biggest winning margin in recent memory.

Skipper David Wadsley was just as surprised as anyone at the hosts’ feat as Wisbech had only narrowly beaten the same opponents the previous week.

He said: “It didn’t feel like we were giving them a trouncing. They may have had a few short as they wouldn’t travel. We were confident but I wasn’t expecting 97 points!

“There was a period in the second half when we racked up a lot of tries.”

Scorers were Tom Long 4, Will Pettit 3, Jack Hoyles 2, Sam Anderson 2, Mark Laws, Wadsley, Jack Smith and Nat Humphries. Laws added 11 conversions.

Wisbech travel to Old Brentwoods on Saturday, 3pm.
