Saffron Walden 4,

Wisbech Town Ladies 2

Wisbech travelled to the league leaders, who had just come down from the Premier League.

Saffron Walden piled the pressure on and converted twice before half-time.

Wisbech were 3-0 down but not out and, after being awarded a short corner, Georgie Dunn slotted home a shot from Katie Rodger.

Walden scored before Verity Allen and Lisa Williamson set up Hannah Strickle to slot away.

PoM: Nat Ward.

Wisbech host Cambs City at 1pm on Saturday and in a cup tie host Colchester at 1pm on Sunday.

Horncastle Ladies 0,

Wisbech Ladies II 6

Goal scorers for unbeaten Wisbech: Joanne Gomm 2, Laura Overland 2, Fiona Hamer-Philip and Emily Woods. PoM: Megan Fey.

Wisbech Ladies 3rds 3,

City of Peterborough 4ths 0

Player of the match, Tina Forder, scored twice straight from two short corners in the first half.

The second half saw a fine goalkeeping display from Freya Colman. Fran Plitsch sealed the win with a few minutes remaining.

Cambridge University 4, Wisbech 2

If Wisbech produce more displays like this, the victories will come. They deservedly took the lead with a low drag flick from Sam Blunt.

Ash Welland grabbed his first goal for Wisbech, but Uni equalised and won with a great deflected finish and a counter attack.

They host local rivals Peterborough at Harecroft Road, on Saturday, 2.30pm.

Wisbech 3rd 1,

Cambridge South 2nd 2

In an important match with fellow Div 3NW strugglers Cambs South, whatever Wisbech tried they could not find the back of the net.

By the end of the first half Cambs South had scored twice. Wisbech replied courtesy of Hugo Atkins.

Next weekend v Ely 2nd XI (a) 3.30pm.
