After a packed weekend of action at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena, racing makes a quick return on Saturday night (6pm), when the unlimited power BriSCA Formula One Stock Cars come to town alongside the hugely popular Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars and BriSCA Ministox.
The event represents the last appearance at the Saddlebow Road track of the earth-shaking Formula One machines before their World Championship final takes place at the same venue next month.
Drivers of the calibre of defending World Champion Craig Finnikin (Staffordshire), Wainman brothers Frankie and Danny (Yorkshire), and Norfolk’s Mat Newson will be keen to ensure their cars are in fine fettle and gain a psychological edge over their opponents with a strong performance this weekend.
The Saloon Stock Car entry is headed by World Champion David Aldous (Diss) who added the National Championship to his list of honours with a superb performance at the Adrian Flux Arena last weekend.
Fifty drivers attempted to qualify for the big race which saw Aldous prevail by just 0.019 seconds over Ely’s Carl Waterfield, with an inch-perfect last bend manoeuvre. Wisbech racers Wayne Cottrill (on his debut in the formula) and Marcus Skeels both qualified for the big race but neither finished the bruising encounter.
They, Scott Greenslade and Jake Swann (March) will hope for better fortune this weekend.
Completing Saturday night’s line-up are the stars of the future in Ministox, including the likes of National Champion Frankie Wainman Jr (Yorkshire) and 2015’s top driver, Courtney Witts (Lancashire).
Last weekend’s action saw Wisbech’s Nicky Young heavily involved on both days in his BMW 5-Series.
