The photo shows Corinne Neale (left) and Dawn Murat achieving at the beginning of a four and a half hour, gruelling examination to achieve their third degree Black belts in Taekwon-do, the martial art they have been doing together for over 11 years.

Behind them (right) is Corinne’s son Joe, who is aiming to follow in his mother’s footsteps, and was grading for his Green belt.

“This is a fantastic achievement,” said Tony Carter, who trains them in Wisbech. “To achieve their third degree black belts at the Carter school usually takes 10 to 15 years.”

Mr Carter is now a sixth Dan International Instructor and Examiner. He runs classes at the Hudson Sports Centre on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings between 6pm and 7pm. The first lesson is always free, and people can just turn up and join in. For further information contact Mr Anthony Carter A.B.A.P.T: Tel: 01366 387601 or 07768 634332.
