Becky Cousins (pictured) from Fenland Running Club and DnA athlete continued good preparations for the World Duathlon Championships held at the end of September.
Cousins competed in the Newmarket duathlon in very hot conditions and happy with her result as finishing second female. She finished second from the first run which was mostly off road, and kept in second place on the bike for two laps, but faded slightly in the last lap coming into transition in fourth. With the final run she gained her place back by performing a strong run to the finish.
Cousins is making improvement on the bike where this was the weakness from the Cambridge duathlon in April but she said: “I’m not getting overtaken as much now but there is still improvement to be done and I still need to buy some bike gear.”
Special thanks goes to Andrew Jakeman who helps with her training, and physio David Jakeman.
