Masters taste Euro glory

The March Marlins squad swam in superb form at the British Gas ASA National Masters in Sheffield, coming away with 16 new PB’s, 11 regional records, 12 club records, four British records and a European record.

The Men Open 400m Medley team (Dan Wardley-Smith, Martyn Fresher, Stephen Mavin and Garry Mavin) won with a new British and European record.

Marie Doherty gained second place in the Women 1500m Free (PB, regional record); Women 100m Fly, new PB; Women 400m IM 4th (PB, club record).

Garry Mavin 2nd in the Men 200m IM (PB, regional record); Men 100m Fly 2nd (PB, regional); Men 50m Fly 1st.

Stephen Mavin 1st in Men 100m Fly (club); Men 50m Fly 1st place (PB, club and regional record); Men 50m Free 2nd (club, regional); Men 100m Back (club); Men Open 100m Free 1st, (PB, club, regional, British); Men Open 50m Back 2nd (PB, club); Men Open 100m IM 1st (PB, club, regional); Men Open 100m Breast 2nd (PB, club).

Richard O’Leary Men 100m Fly, new PB; Men 50m Fly, new PB; Men 50m Free new PB; Men Open 100m Free, new PB.

Martyn Fresher Men 200m Breast 2nd place (PB, club, regional).
