Chatteris made it six successive wins to stay top of the table in CCA Senior 3 with a nine-wicket win on a rain affected Saturday at home against Barrington.

Barrington were put into bat and Andrew Wood 2-30 and Joe Menarry 2-9 soon had them on the back foot.

Dominic Platt 3-34 and Mark Leach 2-26 continued to put on the pressure and Barrington were bowled out for 99.

Brothers Kurt and Connor Cunningham got the Chatteris reply off to a very good start. Kurt was 49 not out to continue his good run of form while Connor 27 and Oliver Fox 27 not out gave good support as they finished on 104-1 after 15.1 overs.

Chatteris’s second and third team games both fell to the weather.

On Sunday Chatteris beat Wimblington by 96 runs in their Fenland Trophy game.

Chatteris scored 225 for eight in their 40 overs with Robbie Bradshaw 43, Luke Matthews 40 not out, Les Connett 29, Cameron Brown 26 and Cameron Hall 25 making the major contributions.

Wimblington lost three early wickets in reply and finished on 129 all out.

In the 20-over Walker Cup game Chatteris lost by 36 runs to Sawston.

Sawston scored an impressive 181 for three and Chatteris were 145 for nine in their 20 overs with Kurt Cunningham 57.
