March Town’s Steve Seymour must surely have made the club and Rutland League record books after bagging a ton in four consecutive Division 1 games, as the Sunday Xl beat Bourne by 41 runs.

Seymour hit 129 out of 241-6 and paceman Jordan Morgan snared 5-43 as Bourne were dismissed for 200.

The 2nd Xl were involved in a thrilling seven run friendly victory over Grantchester.

March posted 163-7 with 15-year-old Josh Fox (39) and opening batsman Jake Beart (31) their top scorers. Jacob Gray capped a fine all-round display with 3-36.

The club holds its popular Twenty20 cricket match, plus a barbecue and disco, on Friday, July 5 starting at 6pm. Tickets are £8 each and are available from chairman Les Mills.
