CHATTERIS Town first team got back to winning ways on Saturday with an emphatic eight-wicket win at home against Wisbech seconds team in CCA Senior Division 2 to remain second.

Wisbech batted first and made a steady start at 66 for two after 20 overs, with Danny Haynes 33 and Dom Stannard 28. But it was when home skipper Ant Palmer made a double bowling change and brought the old guard of Ant Bamford and Pete Munns in that the game changed, and Wisbech found themselves 97 all out in the 40th over,

Munns produced outstanding figures of three for 15 from his 12 overs, and Bamford finished with two for 20, Andy Wool and Dom Platt both chipping in with two wickets.

Chatteris did not take long chasing down the runs, using only half their 45 overs to reach the small target. Kurt Cunningham once again produced the runs, ending 47 not out, and he was well supported by Bamford 23 not out.

Chatteris third team lost to Over seconds by 92 runs.
