Wimblington CC 1st team tasted defeat for the first time this season as they lost top spot to visitors Burwell Thirds.
Batting first, Burwell were restricted well early on but made a late burst to finish on 156-6. Fraser Leader was the pick of the home bowlers, with figures of 4-38.
In reply Wimblington started slowly on a pitch that was still drying. Mark Woodall made a patient 23 at the top of the innings whilst Karl Anderson continued his recent good form with a well made 44.
The experienced Burwell bowling attack restricted their hosts well though and Wimblington were soon behind the run rate.
Marc Eldred (22) was well caught in the deep after trying one big hit too many and they finished on 146-9.
They will look to get back to winning ways tomorrow (Saturday 25) when they travel to Chippenham for a game against another side in the top half of the table.
