Wisbech Town CC have signed a New Zealand overseas player for 2014.
Opening batsman Andy Lane was the third highest runs scorer in Auckland Premier Cricket in 2012 at only 20 years old.
Wisbech skipper Alan Burton, currently in Auckland, said: “He is a talented player who has been recognised by Auckland Cricket demonstrated by his inclusion in the ‘wider squad’ for the professional team.
“Andy is very athletic and a top class fielder.
“We are looking forward to what Andy has to offer the club and hoping that the upcoming season will be even more successful than the excellent one we had last season.”
He played his first 2nd XI game this season for Auckland scoring 48.
Lane also offers some medium pace bowling options.
The Tucker League champions also had success when using a Kiwi, paceman Brad Perrett, last season.
