WISBECH Town under 15 team lost their Natwest Cup regional semi-final against Cambridge St Giles.

They had beaten Wilburton, Burwell and Hardwick in the earlier rounds.

Wisbech were put into bat and started well with a solid opening partnership between Craig Pack 30 and Willis Bennett 16 to take the score to 65 off 13 overs. Brodie Ellis 22, Patrick Webb 28 not out and Charlie Golding 13 not out increased the scoring rate to finish on 128-4 off their 20 overs.

St Giles’s chase also started well with their opening batsman retiring on 50, this helped Wisbech with tight bowling from Craig Pack and Josh Warmington slowed the rate and meant St Giles needed 34 off four overs and then 18 off two overs. The penultimate over went from 16 and meant Wisbech missed out on the final.
