Colleagues at Wisbech’s Fraser Dawbarns said goodbye on Friday to long-serving legal assistant Janet Johnson.
It was an emotional day for Janet who was celebrating both her retirement and her 65th birthday on the same day.
Colleagues organised a retirement luncheon in the York Row office and she was showered with an array of gifts and cards.
Janet has spent the last 16 years with the firm and previous to that, she worked for 35 years at another legal firm in town, Mossop and Bowser as it was called at the time. Janet started her 51 years in the legal industry with the late Richard Bowser.
Conveyancing and probate has been her main work and Janet said much has changed over the years.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time. I have had some lovely colleagues who have also turned out to be my friends,” said Janet.
“It has been a very emotional day. A fantastic day,” she added.
The celebrations continued on Saturday when Janet held a birthday/retirement party at Mendi’s in the town joined by family, friends, some colleagues and clients.
