An authentic 1940s charity dinner and dance is hoped to raise more than £5,000 to help homeless people in Fenland.

Luminus Ferry Project has organised the Second World War themed event in the Queen Mary Centre at Wisbech, on Sunday, September 19.

Anglian Water has sponsored the event.

It will include music and entertainment, along with a hog roast and bar.

Guests are invited to don 1940s inspired outfits to add to the atmosphere.

Tickets cost just £19.45 per person and can be bought from Octavia View, Wisbech, or by calling 01945 429300.

Project Director, Keith Smith, said:“Fundraising events like this are important.

“They enable us to continue to offer the support we do to the many people who are affected by homelessness in Fenland.”
